Hardware/Software Co-design for Real-Time Physical Modeling
نویسندگان
چکیده
Physical modeling of a mass-spring system allows for realistic object motion and deformation in a virtual environment. Previous work in this type of physical modeling relies on general-purpose hardware, and cannot offer the performance necessary for realtime human-machine interaction. In this paper, we consider the co-design of software and hardware in order to achieve real-time physical modeling.

A Methodology for Structured Object-Oriented Elicitation and Analysis of Temporal Constraints in Hardware/Software Co-design of Real-Time System
The hardware/software co-design of a high-quality real-time system relies heavily on the modeling of both the hardware and software components from three aspects: structures, functionalities, and constraints, especially the temporal constraints. However, there is not a systematic process for the elicitation and analysis of temporal constraints in hardware/software co-design. Furthermore, existi...
متن کاملHardware-in-the-loop for hardware/software co-design of real-time embedded systems
Embedded systems are constantly getting more connected with other embedded systems, and off-the-shelf components are increasingly used in new embedded systems. Therefore there are vast opportunities in introducing the hardware-in-the-loop technique to the field of hardware/software co-design of embedded systems, so that the modeling of the implemented components are completely avoided for execu...
متن کاملPhysical/Information Co-Design
Pervasive computing requires a new kind of software design, in fact a new kind of co-design. Pervasive system design must incorporate the characteristics and constraints of a dynamic physical environment. The critical constraint of the physical world are defined in terms of space and time; and the complexity of the real world often requires uncertainty modeling. The pervasive computing systems ...
متن کاملA Feature-based Approach to Embedded System Hardware and Software Co-design
Correspnding author, Email: [email protected] ABSTRACT An embedded system is a hybrid of hardware and softwarethat combines software flexibility and hardware real-time performance. The co-design of hardware and software is the most critical but difficult issue in embedded system design. In this paper, we propose a novel feature-based approach to the codesign of hardware and software in embedded ...
متن کاملPowering Model Based Co-Design
In the last decade, industrial processes using modeling techniques have been successfully applied to both Hardware (SoC and ECU) and Software development. A Virtual Platform is a software model of the hardware on which full software can be executed at high speed and with cycle and timing accuracy. The goal of this modeling phase is the same in both instances; to provide an executable golden ref...
